Sept. 11 panel frustrated by misspending
A little close to home follow-up on a story I blogged yesterday about the 9/11 commission findings being largely ignored by Congress. It looks like Utah's own Orrin Hatch is part of the resistance to implementing the the commission's recommendations. Why would someone as patriotic as Senator Hatch be opposed to protecting the American people? Well, he is concerned that Utah won't be getting its fair share of the homeland security money if the recommendations are implemented. Really? Well, doesn't that make sense considering Utah doesn't have nearly as many terrorist targets as a state like say...New York or Illinois or California? Once again Hatch gets it wrong. Senator Hatch please realize that we would rather have safety for America than making sure that everyone gets a fair share of the money even though everyone's needs are different.
